Monospace

Courier New is a monospaced slab serif created by designer Howard Bud Kettler for IBM. Courier New was then adapted for digital content.

This typeface has a typewriter aesthetic. It pairs well with geometric fonts like Futura and elongated types like Oswald.

Courier reads well in print but loses clarity on the screen, especially in italics. Squarespace’s catalogue of fonts also include Courier Std, Courieur Prime — two darker versions of Courier New.
